What is Paintball?

What is Paintball?
Paintball is one of the world’s most exciting outdoor participation sports. It is an exciting and challenging combination of the childhood games “tag” and “hide and seek”. Groups divide into two teams to play “capture the flag”. The object of the game is to capture the opposing team’s flag while protecting your own. While trying to capture the flag, you also try to eliminate opposing players by tagging them with a paintball expelled from a special paintmarker called a paintgun. Games have a time limit of 10-20 minutes allowing you to play several games during your session.

Is it Safe?
Paintball is a very safe sport as long as safety rules are followed and proper safety equipment is worn. Back 80 Paintball Sports Inc. is Safety Certified by the American Paintball League, Paintball Safety Council and the Paintball Training Institute. We make safety our first priority. All players wear “approved for paintball” goggles to protect their eyes and head during a game and in other areas where shooting is permitted. Referees are provided on the field to start and stop games and enforce safety rules to control the sport’s safety. Guns are chronographed periodically throughout the day by the referees to ensure they are shooting at a safe speed to provide a fair and safe fun day for everyone. Anyone playing with their own gun must be sure it can chrony under 280 fps.

What should I wear?
Pants and long sleeves are required. Camouflage clothing is recommended for hiding in the woods, but it is not necessary. Jeans and sweats are popular, but try to avoid white or bright colors. Old clothes are recommended because you will get dirty, but the fun and excitement will be worth it. Wear comfortable shoes such as tennis shoes or hiking boots as you will be running on rough terrain.
